About the Job Life360 is hiring an AI-Native Engineer — a senior full-stack engineer who doesn't just use AI tools, but thinks natively in them. You'll help design and build features that make Life360 more intuitive, safe, and useful for our most vulnerable members: aging parents and pre-teens using wearables, as well as sports teams and school communities. You'll also help define what AI-native engineering looks like at Life360. Salary Range United States: $129,000 – $192,000 USD Canada: $149,500 – $177,500 CAD What You'll Do - Design and build features for aging parents, pre-teen wearable users, sports teams, and school communities — making them safe, intuitive, and easy to use - Work with AI (e.g., Claude Code) as a primary collaborator across writing specs, generating code, writing tests, and reviewing PRs - Define and document AI-native engineering practices; establish playbooks for the team - Build across the full stack to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability - Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams - Contribute to architectural decisions and participate in code reviews - Participate in on-call rotation to keep our platform reliable - Mentor team members in AI-native engineering practices and adoption - Support performance, reliability, and accessibility across new and existing features What We're Looking For Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience building consumer-scale software products - 1+ years of hands-on experience with LLMs (prompting, evaluating, integrating, building) - Strong mobile development proficiency (iOS or Android preferred) - Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, context management, and MCP/function calling - Track record of multiplying output through AI tooling — you don't just use AI, you rely on it to scale your impact - Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment - Excitement about defining AI-native engineering standards for a team - Empathy for diverse end users, including aging parents and children - Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience AI-Native Expectations - Daily Use: Use AI tools substantively (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) to automate meaningful tasks across the development lifecycle - Judgment & Ownership: AI-generated code requires rigorous human review; you own what ships - Velocity: Senior engineers are expected to leverage AI to meaningfully multiply output - Team Leadership: Share learnings, strategies, and mental models with teammates to support broader adoption - Continuous Learning: Stay current with rapidly evolving tools and bring new approaches to the team Benefits - Competitive pay and benefits - Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans (100% paid employee only) - 401(k) plan with company matching program - RRSP/DPSP for Canada employees - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental wellness - Flexible PTO and company holiday shutdown - Learning & Development programs - Equipment, tools, and reimbursements for home office setup - Free Life360 Platinum Membership - Free Tile Products Life360 Values - Be a Good Person — demonstrate integrity, humility, and openness - Be Direct With Respect — trust and listen to each other - Members Before Metrics — make decisions that put our members first - High Intensity, High Impact — get results in a fast-paced environment Life360 embraces diversity and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
